Cactus Pear Music Festival Coming to San Antonio: July 6, 7, 13, 14, 2018

 

 

San Antonio, Texas - With five great programs and 18 incredibly talented Artists joining Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio, it's going to be an historic season of classical chamber music as the Cactus Pear Music Festival helps celebrate San Antonio's 300th birthday. It's a season of Three Centuries of Greatest Hits from the Cultures that Shaped la Villa de San Antonio. Don't Miss Cactus Pear Music Festival's 22nd Season, chamber music that sizzles and a collaboration with Guadalupe Dance Company.

 

The Festival takes place at the Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, TX 78258.
 
WELCOMING MEXICAN COMPOSER JUAN PABLO CONTRERAS
This gifted Mexican composer's Pueblo Mágicos has its Texas premiere in San Antonio on Saturday, July 14 with the accompaniment of the Guadalupe Dance Company's choreography and dancing. Juan Pablo has also written a piece specifically for our eight talented 2018 Young Artist Program (YAP) Fellows, with whom he will be coaching and mentoring.
 
Cactus Pear's 15th YAP ensemble, The Prickly Octet will perform his Son Jarocho (The Sound of Veracruz) on Friday, July 13 in San Antonio.
